One package covers both versions. ## Installation Install via the Plugin Suite or upload the ZIP under Extensions, install and activate. Then clear the cache. **Sensible defaults:** You do not have to configure anything. The effective and uncritical options are already active. ## Images - **Lazy loading** - Images outside the visible area load only when scrolled into view. - **LCP preload** - the first content image is detected and preloaded. Logos and icons are skipped. - **Add image dimensions** - missing width and height are read from the thumbnail address, otherwise from the media database. The browser reserves the space, which reduces layout shifts. - **Thumbnails instead of originals** - originals get a srcset built from the Shopware variants. An exception list is available. ## Scripts and CSS Both options are off by default because they can have side effects depending on the theme. - **Defer scripts** - scripts no longer block rendering. - **Load CSS asynchronously** - the biggest lever against render-blocking requests. Without critical inline CSS a brief flash of unstyled content is possible. After enabling, check start page, listing and checkout. ## Resource hints Preconnects and font preloads run fully automatically. The input fields are only meant for manual overrides and take precedence. External origins are detected in the delivered HTML, at most four automatic ones, excluding your own host. For font hosts crossorigin is set, otherwise not - so the browser actually reuses the connection. An info box in the module shows live which preconnects and fonts are currently being set. ## HTML - **Minify HTML** - removes superfluous whitespace. Off by default. - **Instant-Prefetch** - preloads the target page as soon as the pointer rests on a link. On by default. ## Acceptance checklist - Check the start page, a listing and a detail page in the browser. - Run the analysis in the module and look at the detected preconnects. - Run a measuring tool such as PageSpeed Insights before and after. - Only then enable deferring scripts or asynchronous CSS, one at a time and with testing. - Clear the cache after every change. ## Things to note If a page briefly looks unstyled after enabling "asynchronous CSS", switch the option off again - that would require critical inline CSS in the theme. If a widget disappears after "defer scripts", add it to the exception list. ## Support We answer questions directly. The texts come straight from the plugin (version 1.0.21). ### Optimizations **Sales channel** Default: All sales channels Settings apply to the selected sales channel. Without own values a channel inherits the settings of All sales channels. **Optimization active** Default: on Master switch. When off, nothing is changed. ### Images **Lazy load images** Default: on Adds loading="lazy" and decoding="async" to images that have no loading attribute yet. **Skip first images** Default: 2 This many images at the top stay eager (protects the LCP image). **Lazy load iframes** Default: on Adds loading="lazy" to iframes (maps, videos, etc.). **Preload LCP image** Default: on Sets fetchpriority="high" on the first image and adds a preload link in the head. **Add image dimensions (CLS)** Default: on Adds missing width/height to images from the dimensions in the Shopware thumbnail URL. Reserves the space before loading and reduces layout shifts (CLS). **Thumbnails instead of originals (srcset)** Default: on Adds a srcset built from the Shopware thumbnail variants to images delivered as original uploads (e.g. CMS banners). The browser then loads the fitting size instead of the full original - a big lever for banners on mobile. The original stays as fallback. After enabling, check the home page: if banners look blurry, large thumbnail sizes are missing in the media settings or the image belongs in the exceptions. **Exceptions (one per line)** Default: empty Images whose URL contains one of these text fragments are not touched. ### Scripts **Defer scripts** Default: off Adds defer to external scripts without async/defer. Careful: can break scripts with strict order. Off by default. **Exceptions (one per line)** Default: empty Scripts whose src contains one of these fragments are left untouched. ### CSS **Load CSS asynchronously** Default: off Loads stylesheets non-blocking (loadCSS pattern with noscript fallback). Biggest lever against render-blocking requests. Caution: without critical inline CSS the page can flash unstyled briefly (FOUC) - after enabling, check home page, listing and checkout. Off by default. **Exceptions (one per line)** Default: empty Stylesheets whose URL contains one of these text fragments keep loading blocking. ### Resource hints **Set resource hints** Default: on Fully automatic: external origins (CDN, widgets, tag manager) are detected from the HTML and preconnected, the theme fonts are determined from the theme CSS and preloaded. The fields below are only needed for manual overrides. **Preconnect domains (one per line)** Default: empty Optional. Leave empty for automatic mode - entries supplement the automatically detected origins. e.g. https://fonts.gstatic.com **Preload fonts (one URL per line)** Default: empty Optional. Leave empty for automatic mode - the plugin then reads the fonts itself from the theme CSS (independent of the theme hash). Entries replace the automatic mode. Full URLs to .woff2/.woff/.ttf files. ### HTML & navigation **Minify HTML** Default: off Reduces whitespace and removes comments. pre/textarea/script/style stay untouched. Off by default. **Instant prefetch** Default: on Prefetches internal links on hover/tap so the next click is instant. ### Analyze **URL (optional)** Default: empty Address of a shop page to analyse. Left empty, the home page of the selected sales channel is checked.
