There are no migrations and no code running during installation - the table it needs is created when the module is first opened. **Worth knowing:** the plugin only ever changes the prices of the chosen shipping method, never the method itself. ## Installation Upload the ZIP in the admin under Extensions, My Extensions, Upload extension, then install and activate it. SSH access is not required. ## Opening the module The module lives under Administration, Plugin Suite, Shipping calculator. There you see the overview of all rule sets you have created. ## Creating a rule "New rule" opens the dialog. In order: - Give it a name and set the rule active - Select the shipping method - the picker is searchable and shows whether the method is active and how many prices it currently holds - Optionally choose a Shopware rule if the tiers should only apply to it - Choose the currency - Decide whether existing prices of the shipping method are removed beforehand **Tip:** rule sets can be duplicated. For a second shipping method with a similar structure that is the fastest route. ## The calculation in detail These values define how the tiers come about: - **Base price** - the base amount always charged - **Surcharge type** - a fixed amount per kilogram or a percentage added to the base price - **Price per kilogram** or **surcharge in percent** - the size of the surcharge - **Included weight** - up to this weight only the base price applies - **Start weight, tier size, maximum weight** - define the steps - **Leave the last tier open** - the top step then applies without an upper limit - **Calculation basis** - lower bound, average or upper bound of each tier - **Minimum and maximum price** - cap the result - **Rounding and rounding mode** - to 0.05, 0.10, 0.50 or 1.00, up, down or commercially - **Price entry and tax rate** - define whether the amounts entered are gross or net The preview in the dialog shows the generated steps immediately with net and gross price. All steps are visible, not just the first few. ## Which calculation basis makes sense The calculation basis decides which weight within a tier is used. For a tier from 5 to 10 kilograms that gives three possible results. The **upper bound** is the cautious choice: it covers even the heaviest parcel in the tier. The **lower bound** is the customer-friendly variant but can fall below your cost on heavy shipments. The **average** balances both across volume. ## Writing the tiers Writing happens through "Save and write" in the dialog or "Write to shipping method" in the overview. If "Remove existing prices" is active, the existing prices of the shipping method for the selected rule are deleted first. Without that option they stay and the new ones are added. **After writing:** the tiers are regular prices of the shipping method and are visible and editable in the Shopware admin as usual. ## Tax handling with mixed tax rates The calculator writes a gross and a net amount per tier. Which tax rate the customer is actually charged is decided by the shipping method through its tax calculation setting: - **Automatic** - the shipping tax is distributed across the tax rates in the cart, weighted by the net share of the line items - **Highest tax rate** - shipping cost is taxed entirely at the highest rate found in the cart - **Fixed tax rate** - the tax stored on the shipping method always applies The module shows this setting directly in the shipping method picker. With a fixed rate the value is adopted into the tax rate field automatically and locked, so gross and net cannot drift apart. **With automatic and highest tax rate** the tax rate field only serves the conversion between gross and net while generating the tiers. It does not determine what the customer pays. ## Notes on handling The plugin only changes the prices of the chosen shipping method, not the method itself. Delivery times, availability and rules stay untouched. Rules can be duplicated to build variants quickly. Prices already written stay in place when a rule set is deleted. Deleting a rule therefore removes nothing from the running shop. ## Troubleshooting **"Save and write" is greyed out:** no shipping method has been chosen yet. Without a target there is nothing to write to. **Prices appear twice:** "Remove existing prices" was not set when writing. Tick it and write again. **The tax rate field cannot be changed:** the chosen shipping method uses a fixed tax rate. The value is adopted from there - that is intentional. ## Support Questions and requests come straight to us - support is from the developer, not from a queue. You can also request a feature through the Plugin Suite in the admin. ## All settings Every setting of the plugin with its default value and explanation, in the same order as in the administration. The texts come straight from the plugin (version 1.2.0). ### General **Rule name** Default: empty Name of the rule in the overview, such as parcel shipping Germany. **Rule active** Default: on Marks the rule as active. Inactive rules stay stored and can be switched on again later. ### Shipping method and target **Shipping method** Default: - The shipping method the calculated tiers are written into as shipping costs. **Rule (optional)** Default: No rule (always valid) Writes the tiers only for this Shopware rule, for example a particular country. Without a selection they always apply. **Currency** Default: shop default currency Currency of the tier prices. Without a selection the shop's default currency is used. **Remove existing prices of this shipping method first** Default: on Removes the existing prices of this shipping method for the selected rule before writing, so old and new tiers do not overlap. ### Calculation **Base price** Default: 4.90 Base price of every tier. The weight-based surcharge is added to it. **Surcharge type** Default: Absolute amount per kilogram How the surcharge is calculated: as a fixed amount per kilogram or as a percentage of the base price per kilogram. **Price per kilogram** Default: 0.50 Surcharge for every kilogram above the included weight. Applies with the absolute amount surcharge type. **Surcharge per kilogram in percent** Default: 5 Percent of the base price per kilogram above the included weight. Applies with the percentage surcharge type. **Included weight (kg)** Default: 0 Up to this weight only the base price is charged; the surcharge only applies above it. **Start weight (kg)** Default: 0 Weight at which the first tier starts. **Tier size (kg)** Default: 1 Width of each weight tier. With 1 kg the tiers run from 0 to 1, 1 to 2 kilograms and so on. **Maximum weight (kg)** Default: 30 Weight up to which tiers are generated. **Calculation basis** Default: Upper limit of the tier Which weight of a tier counts for the price: the upper limit, the midpoint or the lower limit. With the upper limit the 1 to 2 kg tier costs as much as 2 kg. **Rounding** Default: No rounding Which steps prices are rounded to: no rounding, 0.05, 0.10, 0.50 or 1.00. **Rounding mode** Default: Round up How prices are rounded: up, down or to the nearest step. Only applies when a rounding step is chosen. **Minimum price (optional)** Default: empty No tier price falls below this amount. Empty means no lower limit. Applied before rounding. **Maximum price (optional)** Default: empty No tier price rises above this amount. Empty means no upper limit. Applied before rounding. **Tax rate in percent** Default: 19 Tax rate used to convert between gross and net prices. **Price input** Default: Gross Whether the amounts entered are gross or net prices.
