## System requirements

Shopware 6.7 and a valid licence token. Automatic runs need an active worker, either the admin worker or `messenger:consume`. Sending mail requires a working Shopware mailer.

## Installation

Upload the plugin in the admin, install and activate it, then open the configuration and enter the licence token.

## Activating the licence

The plugin is part of the Stone & Water plugin suite and validates the licence against our platform. Without a valid licence the features are unavailable.

## Finding updatable plugins

The module first refreshes Shopware's plugin list, then works out which extensions have a newer version available. Installed and available versions are shown side by side.

## Applying updates

Updates can be applied to all detected plugins at once, or selectively to individual ones. The cache is cleared automatically after the run.

**What it saves day to day:** With a dozen plugins this is one operation instead of twelve separate trips through the plugin manager.

## Automatic updates

With automation enabled, available updates are applied on their own. That removes routine work, but it deserves a conscious decision.

**Weighing it up:** Automatic updates keep the shop current, but they also apply changes you have not reviewed. On production shops with custom work, a fixed maintenance slot with manual checks is often the calmer choice. The backup feature softens the worst case, but it does not replace review.

## Time of day and cadence

You can set a time of day for the automatic run. The scheduled task `staw_update_all_direct.auto_update` reports in every 15 minutes and checks whether the configured time has been reached. That way it hits the intended moment reliably without running every minute.

A time outside business hours makes sense, since caches are cleared briefly during an update.

## Backups before updating

Before applying an update the plugin can back up the current state. The plugin directory is stored as a ZIP named after plugin, version and timestamp, for example `MyPlugin_v1.2.3_20260720-1200.zip`, in Shopware's private file area, separated per plugin.

Which plugins get backed up is a choice, so no backups pile up for extensions where they are not needed.

## Retention

By default the last five backups per plugin are kept and older ones are removed automatically. The value can be changed; set to 0, all backups are kept.

**Keep an eye on disk space:** With 0 the backups grow without limit. On systems with tight storage a finite value is the better choice.

## Restoring

An earlier version can be restored from the list of backups. Before restoring, the plugin first creates a safety copy of the current state - in case the older version turns out not to be the answer either.

## Summary by e-mail

After an automatic run the plugin sends a summary to a configured address: what was updated, what failed. Sending goes directly through the Symfony mailer, so it works independently of mail templates.

**No mail without a reason:** If there was nothing to do, no mail is sent. Leaving the address empty switches notifications off.

## Troubleshooting

### No updates are found

Check that the plugin list is current and that the extensions in question report updates through Shopware at all. Directly sourced plugins need a valid licence with their respective vendor.

### The automatic run does not happen

Without an active worker no scheduled task runs. Also check the configured time of day.

### No e-mail arrives

Either no recipient is configured, there was nothing to report, or Shopware's mail sending is not set up. Sending errors are written to the log.

### An update broke something

Restore the backup of the affected plugin. A safety copy of the current state is created automatically in the process.

## All settings

Every setting of the plugin with its default value and explanation, in the same order as in the administration. The texts come straight from the plugin (version 1.0.40).

### Auto-Update Settings

**Auto-Update per plugin** Default: off
Switches automatic updates on for individual plugins, via the icon in the plugin list. Activate all and Deactivate all switch the whole list.

**Daily at** Default: 03:00
Time at which the automatic updates run. The plugin checks every 15 minutes whether the time has been reached and updates at most once a day.

**Notification email** Default: empty
Address that receives a summary after an automatic run. The mail is only sent if something was actually updated or failed. Empty sends no mail.

### Backups

**Backup before update per plugin** Default: off
Defines for individual plugins that a backup of the plugin files is created before every update, also for automatic updates. It allows an update to be rolled back.

**Keep backups** Default: 5
How many backups are kept per plugin: 3, 5, 10, 20 or all. Older ones are deleted automatically.

### Licence

**Licence token** Default: empty
The licence key from your Stone & Water customer account. Without a valid licence the interface stays locked.
