Crypto Payment manual.

How to accept Bitcoin, Ethereum, Cardano, Solana and XRP - with your own wallets and no payment provider in between.

System requirements

Shopware 6.7 and a valid licence key. You also need your own wallet address for every cryptocurrency you want to offer, one you can receive payments on.

Installation

Upload the plugin ZIP in the Shopware admin under Extensions, then install and activate it. Or from the console:

bin/console plugin:refresh bin/console plugin:install --activate StawCryptoPaymentDirect bin/console cache:clear

Licence key

The licence key is entered first in the plugin configuration. Licensing and updates run through our licensing platform.

Setup in three steps

  1. Enter the licence key.
  2. Store the wallet addresses for the currencies you want to offer.
  3. Enable the payment method in the relevant sales channel.

Supported cryptocurrencies

Five currencies are available: Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), Cardano (ADA), Solana (SOL) and XRP.

Only what you store appears: The checkout offers exactly those currencies that have a wallet address on file. You do not have to offer all five - just enter the addresses you actually want to use.

Storing wallet addresses

Each currency has its own configuration field: btcAddress, ethAddress, adaAddress, solAddress and xrpAddress.

Check carefully: Crypto payments cannot be reversed. A mistyped address means payments go irretrievably to a stranger's wallet or nowhere at all. Always copy addresses out of your wallet rather than typing them, and test each currency once with a tiny amount.

Enabling the payment method

Like any Shopware payment method, this one has to be enabled in the relevant sales channel. Without that step it does not show up in the checkout, even with addresses stored.

Selection during checkout

Customers pick their cryptocurrency during checkout, not afterwards. Only what you configured is offered.

The finish page

After the order is placed, the finish page shows the matching wallet address together with a copy button. The customer then transfers the amount from their own wallet.

Checking and confirming payments

Important to know: The plugin does not verify payments on the blockchain. It shows the customer a wallet address for a manual transfer. Whether and when a payment arrives is something you check in your own wallet, and the incoming payment is then confirmed manually in the shop.

Plan for this in daily operations: crypto orders need a fixed checkpoint, much like prepayment by bank transfer. Because rates fluctuate, it also pays to have a clear rule on how long a payment may take and how you handle under- or overpayments.

Editable texts

All texts can be changed in the admin. Two come pre-filled:

Confirmation text
Asks the customer to send the exact amount to the address shown.
Network fee note
Points out that network fees are not included in the order total.

The plugin ships bilingual, German and English.

Troubleshooting

A currency does not appear in the checkout

No wallet address is stored for it. That is the intended behaviour.

The payment method does not appear at all

Then it is not enabled in the sales channel, or not a single address has been entered.

The customer paid but the order is still open

That is by design. Incoming payments are confirmed manually; there is no automatic blockchain check.

The transferred amount differs

Network fees are borne by the customer and are not part of the order total - which is what the pre-filled note explains. Larger discrepancies need to be settled case by case.
